VERBO AUXILIAR = TO BE (past perfect)

VERBO PRINCIPAL = PRESENT PARTICIPLE

USO DO PAST PERFECT CONTINUOUS

O "PAST PERFECT CONTINUOUS" descreve uma AÇÃO QUE COMEÇA ANTES DE ALGUM MOMENTO NO PASSADO E CONTINUA ATÉ AQUELE MOMENTO OU SE INTERROMPE POUCO ANTES DELE.

Ex.:
I got to school at 8:30.
The teacher started explaining the lesson at 8 o'clock.
When I got to school, the teacher had been explaining the lesson for half an hour.
